I’m starting to think that me and Tanya from Thirteen are physic! 2 weeks ago I nipped in to see her about my dress for Chester Races. As soon as I mentioned Meadham Kirchoff we were both screamin ‘No way!’ Tanya was already planning to base some of her spring summer collection around their latest amazing designs.
Too impatient to wait till summer we’ve spent the last two weeks planning for todays Kawaii masterpiece. Inspired by the Harajuku girl tribes in Tokyo me and Rosie customised a pair of wedges using penny sweets, pom poms, sequins, marabou and barbie heads.
Rosie was the obvious model choice with her candyfloss hair which I backcombed into bunches complete with a quirky fake fringe. When it comes to Kawaii more is more however I didn’t want to make the makeup too fussy although I couldn’t resist drawing on afew freckles for extra ‘strawberry shortcake’ cuteness!
Challenged to say the least by the high heels and fake Kawaii nails we headed over to the carpark by The Pig and Whistle to take photos against the backdrop of Banksy’s latest creation. Someone must of been looking down on us, as we even managed to get the rain we had been praying for so we could use the pastel coloured brolleys I bought as props!
Having Tanya next door is the best, and was definately ment to be. I might be able to sew a few Marebows but thats where my sewing talents end! This is only our second collaboration I’m just so excited for what other Peaches/THIRtEEN concoctions lie ahead!
Now for a word from the talent that is Tanya…
“It was Bigmare who brought Meadham Kirchhoff to my attention. It was December and straight away the pastel colours and overall “doll style” look of the collection was fresh and vibrant and the complete oppostite of winter’s golds, glitters and anything sequinned.
For our version I stuck with the staple buttermilk shirt with exaggerated collar, cuffs and frill trim.
For the pinafore dress we went all out on colour clash. Lilac overall pinafore with bulky cross over straps and big pink false fastening buttons. The central focus of which being the heart shaped green-eyed doll face. For lower part of the dress I trimmed it in pom poms and puffed it out with layers and layers of Kirchhoff’s key colour scheme chiffons.
A pretty pink tie sets off the (much loved) Harajuku image. I have taken key elements of Kirchhoffs collection, exaggerated details such as buttons, bows and pom poms and worked them into THIRtEEN.
Then you’s take it to another leval by transforming Rosie into a real life doll accompanied by the mother of all shoe creations! And the look is complete! beast! ”
Much Love

What a perfect start to the week. This Morning I had Maryamm in, one of my regulars from the old shop who I haven’t seen for a very long time! I was even more excited to find out she was off for a photoshoot with Kath another familiar face from Garston Old Road. Kath is a photographer…. but much more than a photographer. She’s like the Gok Wan of the photography world. Check out her website http://www.theboudoirbook.com/. She has the ability to make you look and feel amazing no matter what shape or size you are. One of these days I must get round to booking myself in before its too late and the lines have set in. I think its important for every woman to have photos of themselves in their prime to look back on. But to kill 2 birds with one stone why not get them done for a boyfriend, husband or even girlfriend for either Valentines Day or a Birthday present!
I dont think Kath will have much work to do with Maryamm. You can see from the photos I took this morning she’s actually already a walking, talking Glamourpuss. Although on my advice I think she was going to pop to Spar to buy some Dutch Courage aka Rosé to take along with her! We went for a classic Kardashian look, natural but is actually loads look and I must include that her hair looked absolutely stunning courtesy of Lorna in Richard Michael on Rose Lane who does does her bonded hair extensions, and Donna at Icon hairdressers on Aigburth Road who does the most amazing blow drys! The proof is in the pictures, I just can’t wait to see the professional ones!

What a long month January was! Finally everyone’s been paid, so it was nice to see all my regulars back this Sat, who, other than Miss Toni Grant, have all been hibernating all month eager to get paid, get shopping and get out! Lesley Ann, Sarah, Sherine and Lauren Mc oh how I’ve missed blending your smokes to the perfection you demand, it’s actually you who I now owe my level of expertise to!

Me and Mum have been so busy making loads of NEW Marebands for the shop that we’ve run out of space to display them!!!! So this week I set The Peaches a creative challenge to create a head of an iconic character for our Peaches Hall of Fame, that can be used for displaying the marebands.
The heads have caused a storm on twitter and facebook today, with people trying to guess who they are? Mine inparticular, the one with the red hair. I chose to do Patricia Field, the Sex in the City stylist. I went to her shop in New York around 6 years ago and have been inspired by her style ever since. In my opinion she is the most stylish New Yorker, however I don’t know how she’d feel about being mistaken for Pete Burns ( hopefully flattered, his makeup is to die for!!!!) I think it’s the fact I painted her in the same cool style she designed her own limited edition of Coca Cola bottles.
The others seemed a lot easier to guess thanks to the artistic skills of the girls. Polly created Jessie J, Rosie created Kat Von D, Lizzie created Marge Simpson ( using a full bag of cotton wool balls sprayed blue) and Little Katie created Gaga who we joked looks a little like Gladys the painting Phoebe made for Rachael in Friends!!!! Ha . Nic has decided to make hers into Avatar in memory of her legendary Peaches & Scream Halloween makeover, she’s been too busy to finish it though so watch this space for The Re-Birth of Avatar next week!

Little Katie here again…. Well As its been Chinese New Year this week, I wanted to do a chinese inspired Make up ! I got this idea from when Kate was researching the net and she showed me LIME CRIME (one of peaches favourites) and their fabulous chinese style makeup, the ‘China Doll’. So with a little help from Lizzie Peach lending me her kimono and a little help from the flowers in the shop I’ve done the exact same makeup! Little Becky was a perfect model with her flawless complexion! For this makeup I used our very own Peaches And Cream Lashes , all Lime Crime eye shadows to get that bright colour effect …. Hope you all enjoy and HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! xx

Getting us in a summery mood on this miserable day, our new pastel glitter range coming soon to Peaches!

I was getting my fix of inspiration from Doe Deere’s ( the founder of Lime Crime cosmetics- a really cool American company) blog last Friday and discovered Lynnderella and her amazing range of handmade glitter nail varnishes! Google Lynnderella the glittering crowd and you’ll see what I’m on about. A little late to this party , I’m just glad I’m finally aware of this phenonemon. Her homemade polishes sell out in seconds as soon as they get released on her blog so you can’t even buy them till she bring out a new one.
Transfixed by all the different mixtures of glitter the polish looks like mini galaxy’s on the end of your fingers, very appropriate considering that galaxy mania has recently hit the shop. To impatient to wait I made pol have a go at doing mine on our lunch on Saturday. Eager to try out some more glitter combos I treated the girls to galaxy manicures today once they’d completed their chores.
If you wanna try this yourself ….
1. Paint your nails in a colour of your choice.
2. Mix together 3 of your favourite peaches glitters, plus 2 shades of chunkier craft glitter available from WH Smith.
3. Pour out a little clear nail varnish then sprinkle in your glitter mix to create a rough paste then apply 1 coat to your nails.
4. Finish with one coat of clear. Voila!
Ours were actually done using shellac so they are none chip, silky smooth and will probably last 2 weeks…. And guess what? If you fancy getting galactic we are offering appointments for them for £15 until Saturday! So if you fancy a treat for the weekend call the shop tomorrow on 0151 227 1669 , you can customise your glitter mix to create your very own galaxy as we have over 80 shades to choose from!!!!!
