Meet Nadia our neighbour who runs the flower stall in the arch next door to Peaches. Nadia has been working on the stall since she was born ( literally) and she took over from her mum with her brother Stuey once she left school.

Even on the coldest day  Nad can be found huddled round her gas heater desperately trying to keep warm as she works. Since we first met her me and Nic have always said how much we’d love to make her over, not only does she deserve the treat she also has the most amazing hair, gorgeous eyes and a certain swag if you know what I mean.

Nadia takes phone orders ( 07403198732) and also delivers locally. In a time of multi national takeover I think its important we all support our local buisnesses and help each other sustain what we’ve worked so  hard to build up.

Anyway, enough of the deep stuff, back to what I do best ….

At Peaches, although we love experimenting with all sorts of colours and concoctions, we have one signature look that is suitable for every occasion. We found that our classic Peaches smokes were the most sought after look for the Grand National 2012.

Our classic Peaches smokes consist of a creamy colour on the lid, a chocolate brown blended socket and some black to add depth and shape to the corners. The great thing about this look is that it is fresh enough to wear in the day but it is still powerful enough to make you feel like you’re all glammed up. Considering that a day at the Races can start obscenely early to make time for a champagne breakfast, this is the perfect look to carry you from day to night.

Although this look is very classic, our clients made sure they put an individual stamp on theirs by matching their blusher and lip colour to suit the tone of their outfit.

Here’s a gallery of all of our looks today, send us a tweet @PeachesMakeup and let us know which ones are your favourites. Are there any looks in particular you’d like to learn? Let us know and we will blog a tutorial for you.

Lots of love, Rose Peach xx

I’ve never really thought about going to Hong Kong on holiday. A month ago I stumbled accross a picture of the mind blowing Hong Kong skyline when looking for holiday  inspiration. Impulsively I knew i had to go and see it for myself, then the more I read the more excited I got!

I’ve been back now over a week and I’m scared to go a day without wearing my Hello Kitty glasses and Pink Panther earrings , I just don’t want to fade back into the dullness of day to day life. I can’t think of word to describe how brilliant Hong Kong is, definately my kinda place. A perfect mixture of Old and New all mixed up and placed perfectly side by side to create a city bursting with treasure.

I took 1500 photos while I was there and it was hard cutting them down for the blog.

Hope you enjoy

Another wedding we did this weekend was that of our very own opera singer Kristen . We met Kristen last year when she was a bridesmaid for one of my brides Jamie. She enjoyed the Peaches experience that much that she booked her own wedding with us a few weeks later!! Kristen is so outgoing and has got a brilliant voice so she happily obliged when our Kate asked her to give us a tune! We were not surprised when Kristen wanted to show us what she had instore for her guests for her first dance.. All of the bridal party , including Mother of the Bride and Bridesmaids began by doing a bit of a slowy to an Adele number… which soon broke into an inhouse rave to SugarHill Gang – Apache (google it to get onto how funny that would be). It was so funny and no doubt went down a treat with her guests!! We had a good laugh with all of the girls and we wish Kristen a big congratulations from all of us here at Peaches!

Amongst the madness of Ladies Day , Nicola and I had the pleasure of travelling upto North Wales to get our lovely bride Charlie ready for her big day. We have known Charlie for over a year now . We were all so pleased for her when she got engaged and so it was lovely for us to be able to do her wedding make up and hair for her on her special day.  Driving to weddings is always a nice experience for us, it enables us to have a chat and a sing along whilst frantically looking out for our destination! We arrived to the most gorgeous house and were greeted by all of her bridesmaids and were offered some breakfast by Charlie’s parents, she has such a nice family. Then the hard work began. We all had a good laugh getting the girls ready, Charlie had her favourite songs playing (mainly 90′s boybands like Five and Backstreet Boys , our fave too) so there were a few dance moves thrown here and there. We even made a little friend in the form of the most cuddly , snuggley dog Alfie. The whole morning was a lovely experience  and Charlie looked like the perfect bride. It was a pleasure to do her wedding and make everybody’s morning that extra bit special , Charlie had even bought me an Nicola a bracelet each to say thank you. We’d like to thank The Brown family – Charlie’s mum Kerry (who looked stunning!) in particular for making us feel so welcome. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!! And congratulations to the happy couple!!

Lots of love, Big Mare – aka, Mary Poppins xxx

(It’s Rose here – I have to admit, when I first saw Mare’s tiny handbag I didn’t think it would have any Mary Poppins potential whatsoever. However, when she had half of Boots on the counter and then managed to pull out a pair of SHOES, I actually ate my words and jaw hit the floor, ha ha!) xxx

Hey everyone, Rose and Big Mare here.

While all the girls have been thrashing out glitter smokes left, right and centre, I’ve had a different perspective this morning… I’m the hostess with the mostess on the till, trying my hardest to fill the inimitable shoes of Big Mare.

We love working on the till because you really get the impact of the makeovers. One minute girls are walking in telling us that they don’t know how they’ve managed to get out of bed (our earliest appointments were at 6.30am) and in no time at all, the same girl will come swanning down the stairs looking absolutely stunning and that’s without the rest of the day’s garb.

Today was great getting to spend some quality time with Mare, and I even did her makeup for her own trip to Aintree. She looked stunning in a monochrome Chanel attire!

We love all our clients and wish them so much luck today at the Races. Hope they win plenty of pennies to start saving up for next year’s Ladies Day!xxx
