We all got dressed up and walked to Chavasse Park this morning to watch Kate and Will tie the knot. It wasn’t long before Rose became the centre of attention!

One of the social highlights in the average Scouse girls’ calendar. The build up to the races at Aintree starts the first week in January, when girls desperate to beat the January blues call up wanting to book. As the demand has grown over the years we’ve created tickets fro appointments which go on sale 1st March. The phone rang off the hook for three hours and all the appointments had been sold by 11am!

The actual morning ran really smooth with the majority of clients toning it down compared to previous years.
Big Mare did the Peaches proud and recycled her outfit from Jack and Caths wedding while Nic got crafty and actually made her own dress which you would never believe from the photos. Me and Pol laughed as we waved her off down Dale Street, knowing she was only a few loose stitches away from a full moon!

Our lucky fish The Black Eyed Pea died today. He was with us since the beginning. I’m really superstitious about things like this; hope it’s not an omen! Anyway, I made Dax walk to the Albert Dock with me after work and we sang ‘Tonight’s gonna be a good night’ as I threw him in.

Last November we were approached by BBC3 to mentor a guy to become a better boyfriend for a new TV show, ‘How to live with women’. The ordeal lasted two days and involved a young gobby Essex lad called Tom coming to stay at mine and working at the shop.

I felt really sick and ready to cringe last night before it went on air, and I wasn’t lucky enough to escape the footage of me waking Tom up without a scrap of makeup in Dax’s dressing gown.

Behind the scenes Tom wasn’t too bad, although at the time it all seemed more hassle than it was worth. This morning I’m eating my words, I’ve come into a mailbox full of enquiries as far away as Ireland!

So all worth while although I wouldn’t be in a rush to go round to Toms again for tea!

Thank you to Alex Gerrard for our mention in her OK! column this week. She bought her daughter Lilly and her friend down to Peaches for her birthday. They all looked fab and I’m glad they enjoyed it. Read Alex’s Column

I got an email from Rose, the crazy brummie from the bluecoat last week and got roped into her latest venture. Although it didn’t take much persuasion, as knowing Rose I knew it would be a laugh if nothing else. She is blogging for The Bluecoat and has created an alter ego ‘The Bluebird’ for herself. She arrived at the shop last night and was so excited for her makeover. She’s even bought me a bottle of rosé to say thanks. However I didn’t need to tell her twice to crack it open. A bottle of rosé and a box of cream eggs later, the night ended with Rose in true bird like fashion spread eagle across the chaise!

We held our first group makeup class last night. Thought I’d be more nervous but there were lots of familiar faces including Miss Toni Grant, although I know I’ll still be getting her famous 2pm texts on a Saturday afternoon for a last minute fit in. They all did great, although Big Mare announced Katie Whinfield ‘the winner’ as we all agreed her efforts were the most similar to the demo.

I’m so glad she wasn’t put off by the madness on New Years Eve! Rebecca came in again last night, very excited to go and meet Drake. I did a quick image search on Google late last night to see if there were any photos and was made up when I found this article commenting on how lovely her makeup was.

We had a surprise last minute squeeze in tonight, Rebecca Ferguson from this years X factor final is performing at the Koco in concert square. It was lovely to meet her and I tried to keep my cool and just treat her like a normal client, which was hard with Big Mare butting in every 2 seconds asking for autographs to give out!! She looked stunning and it was nice to give her the Peaches look that she told me she loves. Big Mare was eating her words when we found out that she’d told Rebecca we were full on the day of her first X factor audition! Hopefully we can make it up to her.

Alex Gerrard came into the salon for the first time and Polly did a great job of her flawless, natural makeup for tonight’s party hosted by Cricket at the Olive Press round the corner. After spotting my nude skull Tarina bracelet she went down to reception and bought three in different colours for herself
The shop was packed with all the Cricket regulars, and the Olive Press looked great all lit up as me and Nic walked past on our way home.
