Congratulations to our wedding competition winner, Charlotte, who sent us in a picture of her Mums best friend, who is definitely a worthy winner for most outrageous dress! We love it! Thanks to all of our contestants! I wonder if aqua marine wedding dresses will ever make a comeback . . .

After reading Kates blog about her mums 30th wedding anniversary, i couldn’t help but think ‘OH MY GOD whats next?’. Wedding makeup is the one makeup that you think about the most, whether its too much, natural or dramatic or whether it is going to last all day. Most days I think about what I would have and I’ve come to the conclusion of having a new look every hour of my wedding day to fit them all in! One of them will definately include crystals on the eye lids …
So see what you think …
lots of love

Yesterday marked 30 years married for big mare and my dad! Tonight I dug out their wedding photies to upload. With only 3 weeks notice after Apparently proposing to herself, mare managed to arrange the perfect white wedding on a shoestring budget, but just don’t mention the shoes! But I will anyway, a pair of white shoes from timpsons costing just 9.99 luckily hidden by the Laura Ashley wedding frock.
After close inspection by myself, and after an interview with the bride herself it’s safe to say the makeup was minimal. Applied by my lovely auntie lyn she’s wearing blusher, lippy and mascara, none of which I can see however I can make out a sweep of white shimmer across the brow bone. I’m also told the scent of choice was rive gauche by ysl!
Anyway for a bit of fun to beat the post Christmas blues me and Rosie have come up with a competition. We are giving away a free makeover for the most outrageous old school wedding photo. All you have to do is email yours or your mums wedding photos to [email protected] All applicants will be judged and the winner announced and revealed this Friday 13th January- lucky for some!

Dont Tell the Bride - Link to iPlayer.
Its been around 3-4 months since we filmed Dont Tell the Bride. Late one Thursday night when we we’re finishing off clients the producer came in and asked if we’d like to take part. Weddings being such a big part of Peaches , I love the show so jumped at the chance, however when automatically asking for dates, times and numbers etc it started to dawn on me that true to the nature of the show it was to be a very last minute booking… to say the least. Despite not knowing what lay ahead ( a nightmare for anyone who knows what a control freak I am) we agreed to take part and arranged to meet the groom the following day…. I was abit confused when the produced refered to she but soon caught on that it was a Lesbian wedding.
A very stressed groom arrived at Peaches in tears the following day and revealed the wedding was the day after (Saturday)… now anyone who’s tried to get an appointment on a Saturday at a weeks notice will tell you the chances are slim if none, so squeezing in a whole wedding party hair and makeup the day before is impossible, but then nothing is impossible for Peaches as we’ve proven. So after a quick move about of some appointments we pulled her out the ‘poo’ as Jade would say, and never one to miss a ‘Mare’ll fix it moment’ Big mare arranged to make a mini mareband for the baby bridesmaid and some mareclips for the older ones! After leaving on a high I then had to break the bad news to Nic and Polly who I’d arranged to do my dirty work for me…” You’ve got an hour to do 4 hair and makeups”, you can only imagine what they said to me, I reassured that they would be ok and that atleast they didnt have to do the Brides hair but still don’t think they were impressed!!!
The following day we all waited tense back at the shop hoping the girls had arrived on time and that it wasn’t too much of a rush, and eager to see the bride and groom as they were getting married over the road at the Town Hall. I can’t remember what time it was when Anna and Jade ( Groom and Best man) burst through the doors looking fab in there suits so we pimped them with abit of eyeliner and some blue nail varnish courtesy of Scratch. We got a big wave off the bride as she drove past, then Nic and Polly arrived back with tales of chaos but you can see from the footage they did an amazing job anyway as I new they would.
Sian (the bride) and Anna came in the following week with thankyou cards and presents, they are a great couple and we wish them all the best for the future. If you didn’t see the show you can watch it on BBC3 iPlayer it’s one of the best episodes they’ve made.

Nic got in at 5am on Sunday morning! Perfect timing for her 8am wakeup call off me for the wedding fair! Luckily Welsh Helen the ice-cream maker from the Hilton wedding fair was on hand for the perfect hangover cure. She traded us a makeover for unlimited ice-creams!!!! It was also lovely to see Karen, Lisa and Chloe from the Bridal path who were styling the catwalk we haven’t seen them in ages!

Peaches rarely do Sundays with the odd exception. Yesterday we set up shop at the Hilton Liverpool for a local wedding fair. After hitting the all you can eat breakfast buffet (probably not a good idea) it was a Peaches team effort to do her the hair and makeup for the wedding catwalk show. Having decided not to exhibit at St Georges Hall wedding fair this year it was nice to see some of our favourite faces on the wedding circuit… Marcus, Herve and of course Wes, as well as meeting some new ones, in particular newbie Helen from Anglesey who makes bespoke Ice-cream.

We met Sara last year when Nic had to go trial out the new St Tropez booth she had in her salon in Wales. After seeing the salon online Sara brought all her staff for a makeover in January and booked a V.I.Peaches for her wedding! I wouldn’t normally write a blog about someone’s wedding but Sara’s wedding will go down in Peaches history for the amazingly funny photos we coaxed her into posing for, she loved it, her bridesmaids wanted to kill me and the camera man wanted to kiss me!!!
