I’ve never really thought about going to Hong Kong on holiday. A month ago I stumbled accross a picture of the mind blowing Hong Kong skyline when looking for holiday  inspiration. Impulsively I knew i had to go and see it for myself, then the more I read the more excited I got!

I’ve been back now over a week and I’m scared to go a day without wearing my Hello Kitty glasses and Pink Panther earrings , I just don’t want to fade back into the dullness of day to day life. I can’t think of word to describe how brilliant Hong Kong is, definately my kinda place. A perfect mixture of Old and New all mixed up and placed perfectly side by side to create a city bursting with treasure.

I took 1500 photos while I was there and it was hard cutting them down for the blog.

Hope you enjoy

Another wedding we did this weekend was that of our very own opera singer Kristen . We met Kristen last year when she was a bridesmaid for one of my brides Jamie. She enjoyed the Peaches experience that much that she booked her own wedding with us a few weeks later!! Kristen is so outgoing and has got a brilliant voice so she happily obliged when our Kate asked her to give us a tune! We were not surprised when Kristen wanted to show us what she had instore for her guests for her first dance.. All of the bridal party , including Mother of the Bride and Bridesmaids began by doing a bit of a slowy to an Adele number… which soon broke into an inhouse rave to SugarHill Gang – Apache (google it to get onto how funny that would be). It was so funny and no doubt went down a treat with her guests!! We had a good laugh with all of the girls and we wish Kristen a big congratulations from all of us here at Peaches!

Amongst the madness of Ladies Day , Nicola and I had the pleasure of travelling upto North Wales to get our lovely bride Charlie ready for her big day. We have known Charlie for over a year now . We were all so pleased for her when she got engaged and so it was lovely for us to be able to do her wedding make up and hair for her on her special day.  Driving to weddings is always a nice experience for us, it enables us to have a chat and a sing along whilst frantically looking out for our destination! We arrived to the most gorgeous house and were greeted by all of her bridesmaids and were offered some breakfast by Charlie’s parents, she has such a nice family. Then the hard work began. We all had a good laugh getting the girls ready, Charlie had her favourite songs playing (mainly 90′s boybands like Five and Backstreet Boys , our fave too) so there were a few dance moves thrown here and there. We even made a little friend in the form of the most cuddly , snuggley dog Alfie. The whole morning was a lovely experience  and Charlie looked like the perfect bride. It was a pleasure to do her wedding and make everybody’s morning that extra bit special , Charlie had even bought me an Nicola a bracelet each to say thank you. We’d like to thank The Brown family – Charlie’s mum Kerry (who looked stunning!) in particular for making us feel so welcome. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!! And congratulations to the happy couple!!

For the record Peaches may be pink but she does have blue blood!

You can’t go wrong with all of this, ladies! Have a fabulous day. I’m wearing black and white, may see you there and good luck!

Lots of love, Big Mare – aka, Mary Poppins xxx

(It’s Rose here – I have to admit, when I first saw Mare’s tiny handbag I didn’t think it would have any Mary Poppins potential whatsoever. However, when she had half of Boots on the counter and then managed to pull out a pair of SHOES, I actually ate my words and jaw hit the floor, ha ha!) xxx

Just had a quick flick through The Mail’s pics of the first day at Aintree. I may be biased but my fave is Herbert’s red suit, pink scarf and patent crocodile shoe combo accessorised with a cheeky monkey set of binoculars! Looking FIERCE Herb! I think he’s channelling the harajuku vibe without even knowing it!

Peaches loves ya Herb! X

Hey everyone, it’s Rose here!

Today is my first day back at Peaches in ages, I have been buried under a mass of Uni work for a few weeks and so I’ve been really looking forward to getting back to the shop. Even though I’ve been gone a while nothing has changed… if you know the Peaches, you won’t be surprised to hear how the day has gone so far:

- I’ve been eyeing up all of the hair pieces to go with my new blonde do

- Big Mare has got everyone a round of coffee and has been telling us all funny stories, including the day she got told off for letting Roey go to Aintree with her mates on a school day

- Katie Hayes is sporting a big bun ring and chatting about nights out

- Steph Blower is giving us all the lowdown on her favourite thing… Twitter

- Nic is whipping up big Barbie Doll hair dos and making jaws drop throughout the shop

- Polly Win is wearing a tribal print and encouraging pre-sunrise glitter smokes

- Kate is bouncing about in kawaii glasses and showing me the new bits she’s made for the shop this week

- De has rocked up wearing every colour under the sun, and she’s even got her hair in on the rainbow action with a coloured quiff!

I’ve been in a different spot today. I’m helping Big Mare on the till (i.e. sitting with a copy of the Echo and picking who we’re going to bet on today – don’t forget to read up on her tips for today by clicking here) and taking photos of all of our clients. It is always so funny to see girls that come in half asleep and emerge looking red-carpet ready! Always a busy body, I couldn’t resist emulating a few of my favourite styles and before I knew it I had told Nic to order me a full weave for my own trip to Chester Races in May this year.

As a student, I’m aware that lots of girls in Liverpool will be watching their pennies (if only our loans came in a week earlier!) so if you’re after a budget look for the races, here’s what I would suggest.

- With Bodycare in town, you’ve got no excuse not to have gorgeous hair. Take a trip there and get a few packs of rollers – they’re normally about a pound each. If they’ve sold out (which they might have done with the build up to the races) be sure to try Home Bargains as well. Blow dry your hair and then put your rollers in while it’s still hot. As it cools it will keep the shape of the rollers.

- Come to Peaches for some Barry M essentials. You can’t go wrong with their bright lip colours – they’ll stay put all day and won’t cost you an arm and a leg. I’d recommend a lipstick in shade 147 if you want a Peachy look, a number 2 gloss tube if you want a natural lip with a pearly sheen or a number 5 gloss wand if you’re going pretty in pink.

- It is my personal belief that every girl has pretty eyes – why not accentuate yours with a pair of lashes? Don’t be alarmed at the thought of applying them, if you get the Peaches lashes in no.9 (a fluttery pair) the band is really curved meaning that it sits on your eye very softly and applies itself.

- The most powerful accessory, and one that is completely free, is a big smile! Don’t be on Perez Hilton’s ‘Atrocities at Aintree’ list tomorrow – let your smile do the talking and let your confidence shine through.

Hope you all have a fab day at the Races. I will be at the till armed with a Duo lash glue and some cotton buds to save the day if any of you get teary at how gorgeous you look and find that your eyes are running.

For the next 2 days I am going to be live blogging and tweeting all of the Peaches happenings so be sure to send me lots of tweets @Peachesmakeup and let me know which looks you like the most. If any looks are particularly popular we will be sure to do a blog tutorial for them.

Love from Rose xxxx

Hey girls Hope your all excited for the races. With the shop being so busy with makeup appointments i have not been able to take any appointments for hair, so here’s a little step by step D.I.Y hairdo for you all that i’m sure will still make you stand out from the rest …

you will need 1 bunring , 1 Peaches pony , 1 fish plait and a pack of sleep in rollers all available in store.

step 1 sleep in your sleep in rollers
step 2 backcomb crown and attach a cut bunring horizontally
step 3 attach peaches pony
step 4 backcomb own hair over the peaches pony
step 5 add fish plait if needed
step 6 style fringe …. an you are good to go !!!

If you fancy a pony simply follow all these step an grab the hair up in to bobble and if you feel your hairs not long enough simply add another pony lower down like shown in the pic above.  then to put the cherry on the cake add a lovley mareband bow

hope this help you all girls lots of love Nicola xxx
