27 February 14.
Let me start off by explaining who I am. My name is Aoife Garrihy, I'm 21 years young, and I'm an Irish MUA (Aoife Garrihy MUA). I'm pretty sure at this stage anyone who knows me back home, knows that I am THE biggest fan of Peaches & Cream. For those of you who don't know me, well lets just say I've been obsessed with this salon & the peaches since the day I found them online about 2 years ago, and you're about to find out why...
*How it all began..
I genuinely can't remember if it was on Twitter or Facebook I found these girls, but the day I did find them, my idea of 'make up' changed for good. With every make up they've done, the attention to detail, the originality, and just the general meaning behind being '#peached' has me literally wanting to be the Irish peach living overseas!!! Every make up is different, and its easy known that the peaches put a great amount of effort into each one. Personally, I think if you're going to get your make up, you should be going all out with it, or as us Irish say 'dolled up to the nines'!! You are getting it done for a reason after all! And that's exactly what the peaches are all about.
I was lucky enough to place 3rd in the Peaches & Scream Halloween comp, and to be honest I was more delighted over the fact that the girls noticed me rather than placing anywhere! I won one of the LIT glitters, and some lashes, which were then added to my own make up kit. So once this started, when the girls decided to release there own brand of make up brushes, it was only a matter of time before I got my hands on them! And only a month or two after that, I ended up getting the ultimate Peaches & Cream make up kit as a Christmas present which was packed with more brushes, the peaches pigments, eyelashes, a brush holder and make up box. So at this stage my kit was screaming 'Peaches and Cream'!
*My trip to the peaches..
So once I had everything I could find with Peaches & Cream written on it, I felt it was about time I put my money were my mouth was and actually go and MEET the peaches! One day at work, my sister said herself and the girls were going to go to Liverpool for a weekend to see a Liverpool match, and wanted to know did I want to go aswell. Obviously I had next to no interest in going to the match, but the second I heard the word Liverpool I knew what I had to do! So after months of us talking about it, myself, Martina(big sis), Lauren, Lorraine, Karen, Sinead & Tricia headed off on our 10:30 flight to Liverpool last Friday, and my dream was about to come true!
Our appointments were for 2:00, so we didn't have much time to spare to find the salon. While I was getting slightly impatient trying to find it with the girls, I turned the corner of Dale Street, and let out a roar because I spotted the gold shop lights that I recognised from photos on Facebook. Of course Martina tells me to calm down but I couldn't help but smile! I was literally 5 feet away from Peaches and Cream!!!
When we walked in, we were greeted by the lovely Ella and waited to be made look like we were from Liverpool. I straight away(whats new) had the camera out and start taking some snaps, but it wasn't long before I had to put it away and get the war paint on! I then got to meet Little Katie, which I was over the moon about. I've looked up to little Katie for such a long time, and I absolutely love the way she does make up. She really is what we call a 'little dote'! I went for their signature 'Full black smokes' with nude lips, and I loved it. Couldn't have done a better job myself! After my make up was done to perfection, I had a few minutes to spare before my hair was about to be made as high as the heavens, so I ran down stairs and got myself a Peaches and Cream hoodie. Myself and big mare took a selfie, and then Rosie helped me pick out a head piece. Off I trotted back up stairs in my hoodie and it was time to get 'the wig done'. Nicola then did my hair, and did exactly what I asked for! I showed her a photo of what I wanted but did say 'just as long as it's absolutely massive and big, I really don't care what you do' and it was more than perfect. It was big and beautiful, now if only I could do it half as good myself the world would be a better place!!! Once the war paint was on, the wig was done and all the gossiping was finished, I was the first girl fully #peached. So out comes the camera, and about 100 more photos were taken! I could literally live in that salon, its so funky and different, its every girls dream!! When all the girls were ready, it was time to go. Needless to say I didn't want to leave!!! I went back upstairs to give everyone a hug and say goodbye, and of course take a group photo!
I was so sad to be leaving, but I'm over the moon I finally met the girls! (Minus a few peaches, some were sick, on maternity leave and not working that day, but I'll be back and I'll meet you ALL at some stage!!) I will without a doubt be back to the girls again, I loved every minute of being in the salon and it was one of the most important things to cross off my bucket list, and I have!
Massive thank you to all the peaches for making me feel at home, and making loving you lot even more!
Was it worth flying over just to get your hair and make up done? YES!!!!!!
PS (I wore the Peaches & Cream hoodie for the next 2 days I was in Liverpool!!!)
Lots of love,
Peaches & Creams biggest fan,
